The Early Bird Gets the Babka at Bakey’s
Wakey, wakey, it’s time to head to Bakey! This new local bakery is led by a Danish-Israeli chef, also the co-founder, who brings his passion for quality, fresh ingredients, and unique baking traditions to everything he creates. Carb lovers from all over Boston are raving about this bakeshop’s diverse pastries, each offering a complex flavor that offers something different in every bite.
A quick favorite is the blue cheese brioche, which is a mix of sweet and savory complemented by thyme, as well as any flavor of babka, a sweet Israeli pastry that is made in a long braided rope and cut. They make almond, apple, chocolate, and more—it all depends on the day. Pair your favorite pastry with one of their perfectly brewed cups of coffee, and your morning will instantly be off to a great start! One thing to keep in mind is they’ve been selling out quickly in the morning. A local regular says that some days they’ll be sold out of the most popular babka only an hour and a half after opening, so go early!
