Be Sure to Shop Hungry at Quincy Market
Quincy Market is known as one of the most quintessential gathering spots in Boston, and it’s not just for tourists! This local gem was established by Mayor Josiah Quincy in 1825 and is commonly known as Faneuil Hall Market. When opened in the 1800s, it served as a local marketplace with more than 100 vendors and eventually turned into more of a wholesale-style market over the years. In 1970, a multi-million dollar renovation and restoration aimed to revive it for public use.
Today, it’s filled with tasty food stalls and shops to browse. Most are locally owned and operated so you can feel good about supporting the Boston community. If you’re new to the area, the market shares a tasty Boston-inspired must-have checklist with all the local eats you’re going to want to try. It includes clam chowder, Boston cream pie, Bostonian baked beans with brown bread, lobster rolls, and seafood in general. There are a few stalls that sell each of these tasty treats throughout the market, so visit for an afternoon and make sure you’re hungry!
